The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Delu Bulus-Yakubu has urged Nigerians to remain patient and understanding in the course of economic reforms being embarked upon by President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
Yakubu made the appeal when she spoke at an event to mark the 2024 International Poverty Eradication Day organized by Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, in collaboration with Solidarity Empowerment Club on Thursday in Abuja. This year’s event was themed “Ending Social and Institutional Maltreatment: An End in Sight, Act Together for a Peaceful, Inclusive Society”
“I want to take this opportunity to plead with Nigerians: the current economic hardships are surmountable, and it’s a gradual process,” Yakubu stated. “Let us remain calm, show understanding, and support the administration’s renewed hope as we strive to elevate our country.”
She reassured citizens that the Tinubu administration is dedicated to improving the nation’s economic landscape, emphasizing that various policies are being put in place to alleviate the difficulties faced by the populace.
“I assure Nigerians that this administration is working hard to address the economic challenges by introducing numerous initiatives aimed at easing hardships in our beloved country,” she added.
