Two Lists Emerge In Eke Ward Of Enugu State As State Party Executives Inaugurate Udi LG PDP Executives

PDP National Organizing Secretary Clears The Air On Issue Of Authentic Executives

Two lists has emerged from Eke ward as executives during the swearing in ceremony of Udi LG Executives of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The swearing in and inauguration ceremony which was successfully conducted and witnessed by a large turn out of party faithfuls was a successful one as the State party executives led by Dr. Martin Chukwunweike handed over the mantle of leadership to Udi Local Government Party Executives led by Barr. Bona Madu.

After the local government inauguration, Hon. Bona Madu was assigned the responsibility to commission the ward executives, while on the responsibility, however, mixed reaction emerged in Eke ward when a list different from the one endorsed by the National Secretariat and alleged to have been changed by the Chief of staff to Enugu State governor – emerged from some members of Eke ward. However, when the State legal adviser of the party conducted the swearing in activity, executives from both lists partook, making it seem suspicious that something was wrong somewhere, whereby one list emerged from the National Secretariat which seemed authentic and duly endorsed by the National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar Bature while another emerged from the venue of inauguration unendorsed.

Not satisfied with the emerging chaos, a National senior reporter, Ali Mustapha contacted the office of the Party’s organizing secretary to inquire on the issue of double lists emerging, in the recorded interview, the organizing secretary stated categorically that any list that has not been endorsed by the National Secretariat is null and void and disregard to democracy, he also stated that such act is capable of ridiculing the party’s efforts to restore sanity in the party and in the country at large.

In a separate interview, the party’s national legal adviser, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade says he is unaware of such situation whereby the national secretariat endorses ward congress and their outcome which was witnessed by INEC officials and enemies of the party go behind to do something else, he stated that, that can only be done in a case of casualty whereby an elected officer dies or decides not to continue, which is also done through due processes.

Recall that all the 260 wards in Enugu State held the Peoples Democratic Party ward congresses on 27th July, 2024, an event that was witnessed by members of the Independent National Electoral Commission and endorsed by the State party leader, Gov. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on the said date, the following party faithfuls emerged as executives in Eke ward;

The above list had since been endorsed by the party’s National Secretariat, observed as the authentic ward executives of Eke ward while the following list emerged from pockets after the successful inauguration of Local Government executives of the party, many onlookers have congratulated the both parties led by Hon. Mathias Onyibor and Hon. Nonso Ogbozo, expecting that the State party executives address the burning issue in Eke ward, in order to put to rest a impending babel in the area.

It is also expected that when things are put straight, the inauguration of ward executives will be conducted in various wards by the Local Government Executives.
