In a devastating Russian drone attack on the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv, five people have been confirmed dead, with another woman injured, local authorities reported on Monday.
Mykolaiv Governor Vitalii Kim shared updates on Telegram, stating that the fires caused by the assault in two buildings have been contained, though the strike damaged several residential buildings. According to Kim, Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down five Russian drones in the area.
In a separate incident, Russian bombing raids struck the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhya, resulting in one death and injuring 21 others, according to regional military governor Ivan Fedorov. He noted on Telegram that at least three glide bombs hit the city during the attack.
Ukraine has been resisting a full-scale Russian invasion since February 2022, with ongoing hostilities continuing to impact civilian areas.
