
The Idiroko Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State has issued a cautionary message to motorists, urging them to avoid excessive speed as Easter approaches.
Charles Daramola, the unit commander of FRSC in Idiroko, emphasized the importance of driving within speed limits to minimize accidents during the upcoming Easter festivities. Speaking to journalists in Ota, Ogun State, Mr. Daramola highlighted that speeding has been a major contributing factor to accidents in the state, particularly during festive periods like Easter.
In addition to advising against excessive speed, Mr. Daramola urged motorists to refrain from drunk driving and using mobile phones while driving. He stressed the critical importance of wearing seat belts and avoiding dangerous driving behaviors such as wrongful overtaking.
The FRSC commander emphasized the necessity for motorists to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations, particularly along the Idiroko-Ota road and its surroundings, to prevent unnecessary loss of life.
Furthermore, Mr. Daramola underscored the significance of proper journey planning and advised against nighttime travel to ensure the safety of all road users during the Easter celebration period.
