Hon. Dr. Adamu Hashimu Ranga, a PDP member representing the Ningi/Warji Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, recently shared his achievements over the past year in the National Assembly.
From his inauguration to the present, Hon. Ranga has taken significant steps to support his constituency during challenging economic times. He provided full truckloads of food on four separate occasions to alleviate the persistent economic hardships faced by his constituents. Additionally, he supplied further food assistance to combat poverty and hunger in the area.
To address the acute food scarcity and financial instability in his constituency, Hon. Ranga distributed ground maize, rice, and other essential food items. He also tackled issues related to health and marriage expenses by offering necessary support.
In the past year, Hon. Ranga facilitated training for 42 youths in various skills, including DSTV repairs, computer accessories, solar hardware and software installations, and technological design. Some trainees have already graduated and are successfully applying their new skills, while others continue their training.
During Ramadan, Hon. Ranga provided 10 kg of rice to families in both constituencies he represents. He also secured federal civil service jobs for three individuals and positions in the Civil Defence for another three constituents.
Hon. Ranga funded NECO exam fees for 22 youths and offered financial assistance for marriages, health needs, and educational support. He granted scholarships to four students to study in Togo and Cameroon.
He announced that the construction of a health center in Kwangi is underway, alongside projects for primary schools in Kajara and a women’s center. Plans for an erosion culvert in Densel Ranga and a maternity center are also in progress. Moreover, farmers’ empowerment centers and the provision of motorcycles for youth and people with disabilities are expected soon. He is also focused on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
In legislative matters, Hon. Ranga sponsored two bills, which are currently undergoing their second readings. These bills aim to establish a Federal University in Ningi and a Federal College of Education in Warji.
Hon. Ranga acknowledged the challenges he faces, particularly in coordinating with the numerous committees assigned to him in the National Assembly.
