Labourer Faces Court Charges for Alleged Theft of Mosque Amplifier in Kano

A 36-year-old labourer named Abdullahi Garba found himself in a Sharia Court in Kano State on Monday, facing allegations of stealing an amplifier valued at N80,000 from a mosque.

Residing in Kawon Lambu Hotoro, Nasarawa Local Government in Kano, Garba was charged with criminal trespass and theft.

The prosecution counsel, Inspector Abdullahi Wada, informed the court that the incident was reported on March 14 at Hotoro Police Station by the complainant, Najib Hamisu, a resident of Tishama Quarters, Hotoro.

According to Wada, the defendant unlawfully entered the mosque and made off with the amplifier, which was estimated to be worth N80,000.

Garba pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him.

Subsequently, the judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N40,000 with one reliable surety, who must be a blood relation.

The case was adjourned until April 23 for trial. (NAN)
