The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a warning to the public about purchasing products from Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry (CMDM), led by Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin. The agency has identified items such as “Miracle Water,” “Miracle Soap,” and “Father Smelled Perfume” produced by the ministry as fake.
This alert follows allegations raised by social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, claiming that these products lack proper approval from NAFDAC.
NAFDAC, in a statement released on Sunday, confirmed that none of these products are registered with the agency and cautioned the public against patronizing them. The agency also emphasized its concern over the ministry’s false claims that the products were NAFDAC-approved.
The statement, signed by NAFDAC Director General, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, detailed the agency’s response to complaints about the ministry’s misleading advertising. The ministry allegedly promoted these products as capable of performing miracles, including healing infertility.
The agency revealed that concerned citizens had submitted petitions regarding the ministry’s “Miracle Water,” “River Jordan Water,” and “The Miracle Water from the Pool of Bethsaida,” among others. Upon investigation, NAFDAC confirmed that these products were being sold under false claims of NAFDAC registration.
During an undercover operation, a NAFDAC state coordinator visited the ministry’s facility and purchased “Miracle Water” for ₦3,000. When confronted, the ministry’s officials denied producing the products, claiming that only their logo and address were on the labels but distancing themselves from the items in question.
Despite efforts to engage the ministry in further investigation, the ministry has refused to cooperate. NAFDAC has since sealed off Globod Table Water, a facility linked to the production of these unregistered products.
NAFDAC has urged the public to cease purchasing any of the unverified products sold by Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry and reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public health.
The agency vowed to continue its investigation into the ministry’s activities, warning other faith-based organizations against producing unregistered and potentially harmful products.
