Wike Stands Firm in Support of Tinubu, Dismisses Critics with Bold Statement

Wike Defends Role in Tinubu’s Government: Critics Should “Hug a Transformer

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed his contentment with working under President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration. Speaking at the PDP Congress in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike made it clear that he harbors no regrets about his role in the current government.

Wike, the only opposition member in Tinubu’s cabinet, addressed ongoing criticisms regarding his appointment. Despite the controversy, he stated, “We are fully in government. We are fully in Tinubu’s government. I have no regrets about it, and I will continue to be there. Anybody who is angry should go and hug a transformer.”

His appointment as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory has been a topic of debate, with speculation that it was a reward for his significant role in securing Tinubu’s victory in Rivers State during the 2023 presidential election. Wike’s statement underscores his steadfast commitment to his current role and dismisses the dissenting opinions from critics.
