A Dei-Dei Grade I Area Court in Abuja sentenced Nweka Martins, a security guard from Tungamaji, to eight months in prison for stealing 200 live fish from his employer’s pond.

Alternatively, he can pay a N100,000 fine. The judge, Saminu Suleiman, cautioned Martins to avoid future criminal activities.

The prosecution, represented by Juliana Atinko, presented the case, outlining that the theft and mischief occurred on December 18. The complainant promptly reported the matter to the authorities on December 21, initiating legal proceedings against Martins.

The verdict delivered by Judge Saminu Suleiman reflects the severity of the offense, as Martins was sentenced to eight months in prison for his actions.
