The Presidency has refuted recent rumors suggesting a rift between President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
In a statement issued on Monday, Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to Vice President Shettima, emphasized that Shettima remains a crucial part of Tinubu’s administration and has the President’s complete trust and support.
Nkwocha labeled the rumors of discord as “false and illogical conspiracy theories,” highlighting that Vice President Shettima is known for his unwavering loyalty and dedication to President Tinubu.
The statement, released to coincide with Shettima’s 58th birthday, described Shettima as a committed and supportive vice president. It noted that Shettima’s recent public praise for Tinubu reflects his genuine admiration and trust in the President.
“Vice President Shettima’s consistent support and collaborative efforts with President Tinubu are setting a positive example of teamwork within the administration,” Nkwocha said. “He has demonstrated exceptional loyalty and a genuine connection with people from all walks of life.”
Contrary to past presidencies marked by public disputes between vice presidents and their bosses, Shettima’s approach represents a refreshing change, according to Nkwocha. He praised Shettima for his substantial contributions to the administration and his support for its initiatives.
The statement concluded by dismissing the recent allegations of Shettima being sidelined, affirming that such claims do not reflect the reality of their working relationship.
