Police Identify Officers Killed in Abuja Shi’ite Attack

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has disclosed the names of the officers killed in an assault by members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), commonly known as Shi’ites.

On August 23, 2024, members of the IMN launched an unprovoked attack on police personnel stationed at the Wuse Market Junction in Abuja. The violence resulted in the deaths of two officers and left three others injured and unconscious.

The Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, has identified the slain officers as ASP Innocent Agabi and Inspector Alexander Odey.

In a statement, Adeh expressed condolences to the families of the deceased officers, acknowledging the profound grief experienced by their loved ones. “As breadwinners, their loss is deeply felt by their families,” the statement said.
