The Nigerian Police Command in Kano State has arrested a man for strangling his 22-year old pregnant girlfriend.
Philibus Ibrahim allegedly strangled his girlfriend 22-year-old pregnant girlfriend, Theresa Yakubu.
Police revealed that Mr. Ibrahim committed the crime at the local council in Tudun Wada and was arrested along with an alleged accomplice, Gabriel Bila, both from Unguwar Korau Tudun-Wada LGA.

The Police commissioner, Mamman Dauda who confirmed this incident to newsmen on Tuesday in Kano said that the command, at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, received information that Ms Theresa Yakubul was dropped on the roadside, unconscious on the Kano-Jos Road in Anadaria village.
According to Mamman Dauda, “On receiving the information, a team of policemen was rushed to the scene, and the victim was taken to Tiga General Hospital, where she was confirmed dead by a doctor,”
“Investigation, however, revealed that the victim left Nassarawan Kuki to Yantomo village in Garin Babba LGA of Kano on March 27, at about 6:00 p.m.”
“In the course of the investigation, the principal suspect was arrested and confessed to committing the offence by using the victim’s veil to strangulate her”, he added.
The police commissioner hinted that more investigations are currently ongoing.
