Justin: Three reportedly dead as fire guts Canadian Embassy in Abuja

On a fateful day in the heart of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, tragedy struck as a devastating fire consumed the Canadian Embassy. This unfortunate incident claimed the lives of three individuals and sent shockwaves throughout the city.

Eyewitnesses reported thick smoke billowing from the building, prompting immediate calls to the emergency services. Firefighters rushed to the scene to combat the flames and rescue those trapped inside.

Tragically, the fire claimed the lives of three individuals, and several others sustained injuries. The loss of life is a somber reminder of the dangers posed by such incidents. The victims’ identities have not been disclosed at the time of this writing, pending notification of their families. Their untimely demise serves as a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety and emergency preparedness.

According to the eyewitnesses, the fire broke out while the embassy’s power generating plant was being repaired, engulfing and killing three people who are part of the technical crew, while one person escaped through the roof of the power house.

The source disclosed that others were blown out of the powerhouse due to the force of the sudden fire explosion.

Staff who ran out of the embassy for refuge outside the gates said that the fire broke out around 11:30 PM as firefighting trucks moved in to put out the flames while rescue operations were ongoing.

It was learned that staff of the embassy were being moved to safety under trees and other safe spaces in the embassy enclosure as an ambulance drove in to evacuate those affected.
