JAMB Reschedules UTME Exam for 24,000 Candidates, Releases More Results

Due to the fact that there was significant non-compliance with JAMB's requirements in the impacted candidates' centers, JAMB rescheduled the UTME.

The 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which was originally set for 24,535 applicants, has been rescheduled by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Because there was significant non-compliance with JAMB’s criteria in the centers of the impacted applicants, JAMB postponed the UTME.

The board also instructed the impacted applicants to find their assigned testing locations by printing their Supplementary Examination Notification Slips starting on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, stated in a statement he signed on Sunday that the Board has also made available an extra 3,921 results that were withheld.

The statement reads in part: “The Board has painstakingly analysed the process and conduct of the 2024 UTME in some centres where there are strong proofs of substantial non-compliance with the Board’s standards.

”Consequently, 24,535 candidates have been rescheduled to retake the examination in their chosen Examination Towns on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

”Meanwhile, 3,921 outstanding 2024 UTME results that had been cleared have now been released.

”Therefore, concerned candidates are urged to check their results from Saturday,1st June,2024 by sending RESULT to 55019 or 66019 to ascertain their status as those cleared would have their results while those rescheduled would be told that they had been rescheduled.

”This release brings the total results released to 1,883,350. The rescheduled examination, which is taking place on Saturday, 22nd June,2024, two weeks from now, is to give affected candidates adequate time to prepare for the exercise.”

A major logistical difficulty for JAMB is postponing the UTME for over 24,000 students. It does, however, also offer the board a chance to reaffirm its dedication to justice and high standards. JAMB is taking action to guarantee that the UTME continues to be a reputable and respected test by confronting the problems of non-compliance. JAMB encourages candidates who may be impacted by the postponing to follow up with official announcements and to make the most of the extra time to study well for the rescheduled exam. Candidates should feel somewhat more at ease during this difficult time thanks to JAMB’s guarantee of a fair and uniform testing environment.

The board’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the examination process is demonstrated by JAMB’s decision to reschedule the UTME for 24,535 applicants and make more results available. Although candidates who are impacted by the rescheduling may face difficulties, it is an essential step in ensuring that the UTME is administered in a fair, transparent, and uniform manner. The board’s dedication to maintaining the legitimacy of Nigeria’s educational system and the significance of adhering to examination standards are both emphasized by JAMB’s activities.
