Advancements in the Nigerian Immigration Service: A Look at the Recent Promotions

Immigration promotes 4,851 other employees and a spokesman.

Caroline Adepoju, Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS, has announced the elevation of Adedotun Aridegbe, Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), to the position of Comptroller of Immigration.

The promotion information was sent via a letter from the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board

With Adedotun Aridegbe assuming the role of Comptroller of Immigration, there is an opportunity for the NIS to further enhance its public relations efforts. Aridegbe, having served as the Service Public Relations Officer, brings a wealth of experience in effectively communicating the objectives and achievements of the NIS to the public. This can contribute to building a positive image of the NIS and fostering transparency in its operations.

Adepoju said this in a statement on Wednesday, adding that the NIS also promoted 4,851 other individuals who took part in the 2023 promotion procedure.

She stated that the promotion information was sent to her via a letter from the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board, dated August 4, and titled CDCFIB/S.33/VOLIV/75.

She explained that 18 Comptrollers of Immigration were promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptrollers-General of Immigration.

“51 Deputy Comptrollers were promoted to the rank of Comptrollers of Immigration; 43 Assistant Comptrollers of Immigration were also moved to the rank of Deputy Comptrollers of Immigration.

“520 Chief Superintendents of Immigration were elevated to the rank of Assistant Comptroller of Immigration; 634 Superintendents of Immigration got the rank of Chief Superintendents of Immigration,” she said.
