Popular Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko also known as Simi, has revealed that she does not produce and mix songs as much as before due to motherhood.
The mother-of-one said her daughter, Adejare, is taking up much of her time and as such she is not able to do some work in the studio as often as she may like.
Simi stated this via her X account while responding to a fan with username @Starr_gael that asked; “How’s mixing and engineering going?”
One fan, eager for an update on Simi’s musical endeavors, took to social media to inquire about the progress of her latest song’s mixing. Simi, known for her openness and connection with her fans, responded with genuine transparency. She acknowledged the delay and attributed it to the undeniable charm of motherhood – her daughter’s clinginess.
Simi’s revelation strikes a chord with many mothers who understand the delicate dance of trying to pursue personal and professional passions while ensuring the well-being of their children. Parenthood, filled with joy and unconditional love, also introduces a set of challenges that require patience, adaptability, and a whole lot of multitasking.
As Simi navigates the intricate process of balancing motherhood with her career, it’s clear that Deja has become an unintentional muse. The little one’s presence, though slowing down the song production process, undoubtedly infuses Simi’s life with a different kind of inspiration. Parenthood, in its unique way, has the power to transform creativity, giving birth to new perspectives and emotions.
Simi’s journey resonates with artists and parents alike, highlighting the importance of patience in the pursuit of one’s passions. While the wait for new music might be prolonged, the understanding fans appreciate the authenticity and honesty in Simi’s revelation. It’s a reminder that life’s most precious moments often come with a simultaneous ebb and flow of different aspirations.
The songstress noted it’s taking longer than expected especially because her child acts like the only reason God made her was so that they could hang out together. Simi responded:
“It’s taking longer than I’d like because Deja thinks the only reason God made me is to hang out with her.”
