Former House of Representatives member for Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, Honorable Godday Samuel Odagboyi, expressed heartfelt condolences today, May 4, 2024, to his close friend, Mr. Amos Edime, in Ayingba, Kogi State, following the passing of his dear mother.
Describing Mama Esther Nana Edime as a nurturing, compassionate, and hardworking mother, Honorable Godday reflected on her life as a celebration, considering her passing at the age of 88.
“In this time of grief, my thoughts are with Mr. Edime’s family and the entire community of Anyigba,” stated Honorable Godday. “Death is simply a return to our heavenly Father.”
Acknowledging the mysteries of life and death, he emphasized that as humans, we are powerless to alter the plans of God. He drew comfort from scripture, highlighting the victory of Christ over death and the assurance of eternal life for believers.
“While we mourn the loss of our loved ones, we find solace in the promise of resurrection and the joy of reunion in God’s presence,” Honorable Godday remarked. “In that heavenly realm, there is no sorrow, tears, or pain—only everlasting peace.”
Closing with words of hope, he reaffirmed his faith in Christ’s promise of resurrection, quoting, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
