An Abuja Federal High Court has granted former Commander of the Force Intelligence Response Team, DCP Abba Kyari, a two-week bail period. This decision allows Kyari to return home to conclude the burial rites for his late mother.
The court, recognizing the significance of the mourning period for Kyari and his family, set Friday, May 31, as the date for determining his bail application.
Kyari is currently facing trial for drug-related charges brought forth by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The former IRT boss was apprehended by the NDLEA on February 14, 2022.
This temporary bail provision underscores the court’s acknowledgment of the personal circumstances surrounding Kyari’s situation. Further updates on his legal proceedings will follow as they unfold.
