The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has requested that Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, resign from the party. The APC has also removed him from his position as Senate Chief Whip, replacing him with Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno from Borno North.
In a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, signed by APC National Chairman Alhaji Umar Ganduje and National Secretary Senator Surajudeen Basiru, the party cited Ndume’s critical comments about President Bola Tinubu as the reason for his removal. The APC stated that Ndume’s remarks were not in favor of the Federal Government.
The Senate President put the request to a voice vote, which was unanimously affirmed by all APC Senators.
