Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has highlighted the significance of the upcoming 2025 Anambra governorship election for both the party and the federal government. Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja during the inauguration of the Anambra consultative council, Ganduje stressed that Anambra should be integrated into the mainstream of Nigeria’s politics.
“I believe this meeting is part of the strategy by the state APC to reorganize and unite our party members in preparation for the forthcoming 2025 governorship election,” Ganduje stated. He underscored the strategic importance of Anambra within the South-East and, by extension, Nigeria, emphasizing the need for the state to align with the central government.
Ganduje expressed confidence in the ability of the attendees to secure a victory for the APC in Anambra, urging them to work together to prevent the state from remaining on the political sidelines. He highlighted the importance of commitment and unity among stakeholders, which he believes will attract the necessary support and motivation to win the election.
The APC national chairman called on the council to actively support the party by organizing regular activities in the state to enhance public awareness and membership mobilization. He commended Basil Ejidike, the state chairman, for initiating the high-level stakeholders’ meeting, which he said would help reorganize the APC in Anambra.
Ganduje emphasized the critical role of unity in achieving success, comparing it to the strength of a broom, the party’s symbol, which represents the power of collective effort. He assured the stakeholders of the party’s national leadership’s continued support as they prepare for the 2025 governorship election.
Basil Ejidike, in his remarks, highlighted the distinguished composition of the newly inaugurated council, praising their commitment and loyalty to the APC and Anambra. He reaffirmed the party’s dedication to serving the people of Anambra and achieving its mission of political progress and governance improvement in the state.
Nze Duru, the party’s deputy national organizing secretary, also addressed the gathering, asserting that the Anambra APC remains united despite contrary speculations. He called for collective effort to bridge the gap in governance and realize the party’s ambitions for the state.
